A drop in computer sales has the Dell Computer Manufacturing Company closing a plant in North Carolina and eliminating hundreds of jobs. Dell will be closing in desk-top p-c manufacturing plant around the end of this year. The move means the company will be laying off about 900 workers. The company say the closing is a necessary move because the demand for the desk-top computers produced at the plant has fallen sharply as more computer uses switch to lap-tops This is just the latest move from the Dell company to reduce it excess manufacturing capacity.
