Criminal charges have been filed in the Swiss Banking case one day after an I-R-S agreement that could lead to fines for thousands of Americans. The largest Swiss Bank, U.B.S, agreed on Wednesday to turn over account information on more than 4,400 accounts as part of a tax investigation. A Bank Manager and a Swiss Lawyer have not been charged with helping wealthy Americans hide their assets from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. ........................................... In an effort to increase sales for the coming holiday shopping season, Sony has cut the price of its popular Playstation three video game system by one hundred dollars. Effective immediately, the 80-gigabyte play station will be sold for $299 while a more powerful version of the system will go for $399. Analysts say the sales of Sony Play Stations have been lagging behind the X-box and Wii game systems because of the higher price. In addition to cutting the price, Sony also plans on releasing a new smaller, lighter model of the P-S 3 next month in an effort to encourage new sales. .......................................... |
