    The Healthy Plate for Diabetes

    Seventeen million Americans have diabetes, a disease with many life-threatening complications. These complications include heart disease, stroke, leg and feet amputations, blindness, kidney disease, and nerve damage. To help you avoid this deadly disease, Penn State Cooperative Extension in Bedford County is conducting the workshop, The Healthy Plate for Diabetes, on from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at PA CareerLink® on Friday, November 13, 2009.

    The workshop will detail the symptoms and testing for diabetes, the various types of diabetes, how to lower blood sugar levels through nutrition and exercise, along with practical suggestions to reduce your risk of this disease.
