    Tuesday, Sep 1, 2009 @10:29pm EDT

    From Curve reports:

(Altoona, PA) – Akron infielder Beau Mills doubled in two runs in the top of the 12th inning as the division leading Akron Aeros (AA-Cleveland Indians) defeated the Altoona Curve in the opening game of their three game series 6-3 Tuesday night at Blair County Ballpark

After falling behind 1-0 early Altoona plated three consecutive runs with RBIs coming from Jonel Pacheco, Ray Chang, and Durham to give the Curve a 3-1 lead.  Durham and Pacheco each finished the night 2-for-4 with an RBI.  Pacheco had his fifth consecutive multi-hit game with a double and a triple on the night.
It would be all Akron from there scoring two runs in the sixth on a double by Carlos Rivero to tie the game and then three more runs in the 12th to seal the deal.

Curve righty Derek Hankins had his longest outing of the season in relief of LHP Donnie Veal who was rehabbing for Pittsburgh.  Hankins tossed 6.1 innings allowing two runs on six hits with four strikeouts.  Veal had his longest rehab appearance in 2.1 innings of work striking out five.
