These rules are intended to supplement the official rules of specific WTAJ and WeAreCentralPA.com contests. Whenever specific rules and these general rules contradict, the specific contest rules will take precedence.
Official rules: Whenever possible, the latest rules will be available at www.WeAreCentralPA.com. The most recently dated rules found in the WTAJ public file will supercede all other versions.
Prizes: Prizes are subject to change without notice. Prizes have no cash value. No prize substitutions are authorized. Unless otherwise specified, prizes cannot be transferred to other people.
How to claim prizes: Unless otherwise specified in specific contest rules, all prizes must be claimed in person at the WTAJ TV Studio at 5000 6th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16602
. Prizes must be claimed during regular business hours (8am to 5pm) on regular business days. Prizes must be claimed within thirty calendar days of winning. If not claimed in that time frame prizes will be considered forfeited.
Mailing of prizes: For residents outside of Blair County prizes will be mailed to the individual winners. Please provide a complete mailing address when registering for all contests(if using a PO Box number, please include a street name as well).
Age restrictions: Minimum age to win a contest is 18 unless otherwise specified in a contest’s specific rules or the nature of the prize makes certain ages inappropriate or illegal.
Release of information: By winning, all contest winners authorize WTAJ to use video, photographs or other likeness’ of them in an appropriate manner to promote WTAJ. No private information or information of a sensitive nature other than name or hometown of the winner will be released to the public.
Restrictions: Winners may only win one prize during a 90-day period. All contests and prizes are void where prohibited by law. Federal, state and local laws override contest rules. Any taxes, licenses or fees are the responsibility of the winner and not WTAJ or its partners.
Exclusions:
a. Employees and their immediate families of WTAJ-TV Nexstar Broadcasting, and any employees/promoters of contest sponsors are not eligible to win the prizes. Employees, agents, successors, and assignees of Sponsor, its advertising agencies and promotional companies involved in the promotion, as well as family and household members of the same, shall be ineligible to participate in the Promotion and shall be ineligible for any prize covered herein.
b. Names and likenesses of winner(s) may be used by Sponsor and Sponsor’s designee(s) for promotional purposes without further compensation to Sponsor or the winner(s).
c. Anyone who has been a winner in any WTAJ-TV on-air contest within the last 90 calendar days.
*Immediate family member is defined as mother, father, sister, brother, spouse, children, step-children, all in-laws, and any other member of the employee’s household.
