Storm Fire Safety
WTAJ, Your News Leader has teamed up with the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioners Office, the Altoona Fire Department and Kidde for Operation Save A Life, a campaign targeting Fire Safety and Prevention for the counties of Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Centre, Clearfield and Huntingdon.
Fire departments in our region will begin distributing and installing 5,000 Kidde smoke detectors to families across Central Pennsylvania at no charge, beginning April 2010.
More than 4,000 Americans die each year in fires and approximately 20,000 are injured. An overwhelming number of fires occur in the home. We want to help reduce fire fatalities. That's why WTAJ, Your News Leader is teaming up with our local fire fighters for our first annual Operation Save-A-Life campaign.
To find a participating fire company in your area, refer to the contact list by county below.
